Somewhere

Four films later, I think it's safe to say that, for me at least, Sofia Coppola is one of the greatest directors ever, who creates some of the most real and honest films. A raw father and daughter story and a completely minimalist film shot almost entirely at the historic Chateau Marmont. Some called this movie boring...for me, it is sincere and unreservedly satisfying. I'm just mad I waited so long to finally see it. Oh, and it goes unsaid that Elle Fanning is completely adorable as always. Except that I just said it.

Currently (and Forever) Channeling: Cher Horowitz

When Clueless came out in 1995, I was ten years old, saw it in theaters, and was instantly obsessed. My friends and I all bought knee highs and those fuzzy pens for school, and thought we were the coolest. Back then, I was completely jealous of Cher's closet, computer generated outfits, and wardrobe in its entirety. And 16 years later, uh, I kind of still am. I can watch this movie to this day and enjoy it, well, probably even more than before, because at 26 years old, the jokes just make more sense now. It's still funny, still relevant, and still totally awesome. And as of recently, I came to the conclusion that I will forever worship Cher, her clothes, and of course the movie's soundtrack. Plus, it cannot go unsaid that my overwhelming crush on my main man Paul Rudd all began here, and for that, I am eternally grateful. Oh, and Brittany Murphy, RIP girl.
